There are always days (and people) that have more knowledge then us or that have a different perspective. My goal is to make this a weekly post that allows me to share the change that I have been challenged with integrating into my human experience. These things can be of any topic but I suspect will often be food related as that's where my greatest interest lies. It's also an effort to get me to at least sit down and write something weekly. “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” ~Victor Frankl

“We are only as healthy as our Mother’s womb” -Chris Kresser Here's my plea, is anyone else out there pregnant, paleo and attempting to be low-FODMAP? I want to talk to you! What do you eat for carbs? I'm also nightshade free and I'm finding myself relying heavily on green plantains when I can find them. That being said, I have NO idea how to prepare them other then fried into chips, which I have to tell you is absolutely amazing for me. Crunchy, salty, carbohydrate hit.
Why am I doing this to myself during my late second trimester? “Let the beauty we love, be what we do.” ~ Rumi It's funny, as I sit here today with the rain coming down outside and our 2+ feet of snow melting quicker then I can boil down my sap, how contemplative I am. I am feeling compelled to write. If I didn't write, my day would be unfulfilled. I have a kitchen that needs to be scrubbed top to bottom, dishes from a day's kitchen adventures waiting and a new pressure cooker waiting to be filled with beef bones to make stock, but I choose to write instead. The living room is in now better state. My mind will not quite, it's all a buzz with the things of spring, the sheep hiding from the rain in their make shift hoop house and all the thoughts of babies, human or otherwise that need to be prepared for. That's only the last 15 minutes, before that it was nutrition, health and healing...a go to subject for my ever churning thoughts.
There is also the challenge of what to title this post... We now know that whatever you vibrate, you create and attract to yourself. So, you work on healing yourself in order to create peace around you. You become peace. If there is conflict living within you, you cannot live in a world of peace. The world mirrors back to you perfectly the condition of your love and of your intent. And if the world you're living in is not a world that is at peace and at joy and at grace, then you have to find peace, joy, and grace within you. I snagged this little gem from The Little Herb Shoppe (Littleton, NH) newsletter. I couldn't help myself. Talk about ringing true. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking out this shop. It's wonderful and the staff is super helpful. Kim was the one I spoke with at length and she was very knowledgeable. They are offering a liver detox class this month.
Pictures will come in the near future but I just had to share, WE GOT OUR SHEEP! We are so excited. We got 4 breed ewes, 3 of which are CVM's and one is a Romeldale (not CVM). It was a really long ride down to Pennsylvania to visit Marushka Farms and pick up these girls but due to the kindness/generosity of one of hubby's previous co-workers we had a trailer so they had a comfortable ride.
If only I knew what I was getting myself into! |

Hi there, Wysteria here. I will be writing as regularly as possible on behalf of my family and regarding our adventures in farming, food, health and things of the like. My interest range widely and my brain wanders far. Namaste. Archives
